A Step-by-Step Walkthrough of How to Use the App as a Skillr

So you heard about this new app on the block called SKILLR, where you can take control of your schedule and make money for what you know. You put in your application and, being the boss that you are, it was accepted. Congrats!

Now, you're excited to learn how to use the app so you can get started educating, solving problems, entertaining and helping people get shit done. And, you came to the right place because today we're breaking down how to use the SKILLR app as a pro so you can get chatting in no time.

First, you need to create an account.

To create an account, you'll need to have the SKILLR app downloaded to your device. Once downloaded, you'll be prompted to enter your name, phone number, email and date of birth.

Then, you'll see an option to set up your Stripe account which is used to process payments to you from SKILLR.

Then, you’ll set up your profile.

Creating a Skillr profile is a piece of cake. We’ve already got you covered on the details of setting up your profile in our post How to Set Up Your Skillr Profile. Also, take a look at Best Practices for Setting Up Your Skillr Profile.

You'll notice the app will ask you to select your skill. Basically, this is how we categorize what you do around here. For example, if you’re a dating coach, your parent category would be Get Coached and your sub-category would be Dating Help. Determine the best categories for your skillset.

Then, head over to establish your availability. No right or wrong here. Your time is valuable and we want you to set up your Skillr availability according to your convenience and best interest.

One thing to keep in mind, the more optimized your profile is, the better chances of you getting booked.

Finally, it’s time to take some calls.

Now for the fun part! When you receive a call from someone who has booked your services, you'll see a notification pop up on your device screen just as you would when you receive a regular phone call.

You can either choose to accept or decline the call if you aren't available at that moment. If you accept the call, you might need to make sure your camera is turned on, or else it will only be an audio call.

Then, prepare to lead your session. It's completely okay to allow a few minutes of buffer time for you and your caller to get acquainted.
