5 Ways to Level Up Your Teaching Skills as a Skillr

New to coaching and teaching? We’ll get into a few tips to help you shine as an expert on the SKILLR App. Here are five ways to level up your teaching skills as a Skillr

Center empathy

To be an effective teacher, you need to be able to put yourself in your Seekr’s shoes. Where are they in learning this skill? What are their goals and frustrations? Knowing all of this and, better yet, understanding it can help you to help them more effectively.

Communicate clearly

Perhaps the most important skill you need to be able to teach Seekrs on the app is communication. Your success as a Skillr hinges on your ability to adequately share ideas and information with the Seekr. Failing to do so can leave your Seekr unsatisfied with the session and could result in bad reviews. So do both yourself and Seekrs a favor and hone your communication skills!

Be observant

A big part of being an engaging expert on SKILLR is your ability to observe and get in touch with your Seekr’s reactions and feelings. You don’t have to be a mind-reader—just be sure to pause, ask them if they have any questions and repeat back their problem or situation so you can be sure you’re helping them with what they actually need help with.

Convey confidence

Confidence in yourself and your skills will help Seekrs build trust in you, which is especially important if you want to grow on the app and get some repeat customers. You’re a Skillr for a reason—we see the value of your know-how. So, be sure to own it!

Bring your creativity

Teaching can become even more engaging when you incorporate creativity into the mix. This can look like many different things, but ultimately, creativity means thinking outside the box about how you present information to a Seekr.
