Wait a minute, what exactly is tarot card reading?
Basically, tarot reading is a form of cartomancy where practitioners use tarot cards in order to gain insight into the past, present or future. They traditionally come in a pack of 78 cards with five suits: swords, cups, pentacles, wands and a permanent trump.
The reader proposes a question to their guest, then draws a series of cards for interpretation based on placement and pattern. Some might call this a form of fortune-telling.
Can tarot card readings predict the future? Well, not exactly, but getting a reading from one of our Skillrs might help you get a clearer idea of the direction you want your life to go.
What happens during a tarot card session?
When you get on the call, you can usually expect a brief intro by the SKILLR tarot reader. They’ll likely ask you something along the lines of what you would like to come through in the reading.
These could be questions around a goal, any life concerns you might have or anything else that’s on your mind. Pro tip: Try not to reveal too much about yourself as it will spoil the purpose of the reading.
The reader will lay out the cards in a manner that’s consistent with the kind of reading the guest has requested. They’ll take a look at the overall pattern of the draw and what card lands where.
They should then explain the meaning of the individual cards they’re pulling, followed by interpreting them together depending on position, neighboring cards, etc. At this point, the reader might tell you a bit about what challenges you’re facing ahead, what strengths you might have in a situation, general cautions you might want to take, etc. Throughout the session, the reader may give you a chance to ask questions they can answer as well.
